That's awesome Emily, though hopefully there were some Tuckers and Dales in their school too! And your mention of the DVD extra brings up the problem with Watch Instantly: no DVD extras that often enhance the experience. We lose that in the greater availability streaming affords. I'll have to track this down on DVD at some point then.

And you're absolutely right m.brown, the Habs are the hated ones, but the Canucks, man, did you see that game? Yes, the B's lost on a dirty play by Marchand that resulted in two PP goals, but the Canucks were so weaselly, fighting Thornton 6 on 1, then afraid to fight him man-to-man; and Luongo chickening out instead of playing in the game. Even the Habs think the Canucks suck. It's like they're a team of Claude Lemieux's.

Glad you seemed to enjoy it as much as I did. I think much of the success of the film comes from not only the clever reversal of roles, but the endearing performances of Tucker and Dale. They make it very easy (though not forced) to like them.

This from one die-hard B's fan to another. The Canucks? I thought I hated the Habs...

Actually, one side of my family resides in West Virginia and I WOULDN"T be surprised to learn they went to school with the Wrong Turn kids.

But onto that movie..

I loved it too. Great to see genuinely likable characters in a genre film. The DVD has a great special feature where it's the whole film boiled down to the kids' point of view, so it reads like a short 15 minute typical backwoods horror. It really shows how and why they'd react the way they do.
